The various aspects of the human condition and embodiment are underlying concerns of my artistic practice. My existentialist interest in "being human" developed out of my early interest in memory and narratives and is closely related to the process-led approach I adopt; my art often evolved from the tactile process of making. Heidegger's concept of "dasein" (being in the world) goes someway to explain my artistic approach as I am interested in all things human, especially how we experience the world through our bodily senses.
My artist explorations of the human condition have led me to explore the inside of our bodies from synapses to neurons as well as exploring our bodily relationship with the landscape, pain and dreaming.
